ВЕРЛАНГ” by Prophetic Psychosis caught me off guard in the best possible way. I usually skip tracks that feel too philosophical because they tend to lose me in pretension, but this one kept me listening from the first few seconds. What I appreciate most is how Popaska and Vernichten balance the deeper themes with something you can actually groove to. It’s not often you find music that makes you think while simultaneously making you want to move. The whole concept about words shaping our reality sounds abstract on paper, but when you hear it play out with those rhythms, it makes complete sense. It becomes visceral rather than intellectual.
The line about never dying stuck with me for days after my first listen. It kept replaying in my head at random moments. Because it’s not literal, right? It’s about leaving something behind that matters, about creating moments and connections that outlive the physical. Music does that. Art does that. The things we put out into the world continue echoing long after we’re gone. That’s the kind of immortality worth pursuing, and I think that’s what Prophetic Psychosis is getting at here. It made me reflect on what I’m leaving behind in my own life, what marks I’m making that might resonate with someone else down the line.
The silence they talk about isn’t empty, it’s full. That’s what got me. We’re so used to filling every moment with noise, with distraction, with constant input. But there’s richness in quiet, in those spaces between the beats where you can actually hear yourself think and feel. Prophetic Psychosis has managed to create a track that honors both the celebration of sound and the power of stillness. That’s a tricky balance to strike.
