Cloud built a career on patience. He never rushes a hook or forces a chorus on you before it is ready. “Nobody’s Dreaming” is proof that patience pays off.

The track opens quiet, almost hesitant, like it is testing the room before it commits. Then the synths start stacking and the whole thing widens out until you are caught inside it without noticing when that happened. It is the kind of song you play once out of curiosity and then again because you missed something the first time.

What gets me about this one is the restraint. Cloud could have gone bigger, louder, more obvious with the chorus. Instead he holds back just enough that the emotion sneaks in sideways. Nothing here spells itself out, and that is exactly why it lands.

The numbers back up what your ears already tell you. Cloud has pulled in over 160,000 plays on Spotify, with 80 percent of that audience sitting in the United States, a serious feat for an independent artist working out of Japan and still finding a way into one of the toughest markets in music. “Overdrive” has already crossed 120,000 plays on its own. Add two mainstream radio placements, coverage across more than 100 Western outlets, and studio collaborations with Luis and Alex, and you get a picture of someone who has been quietly building momentum for a while now.
