Ervin Munir Drops “Lifeline”

Ervin Munir

I’ve been following Ervin Munir for a bit of time now, and, “Lifeline” might be his best. This collaboration with Kate Swanson feels like something he’s been building towards.

The song sums up that specific feeling when someone shows up in your life at exactly the right moment. Ervin’s always been good at writing about isolation and connection, but this one has a different touch. Maybe it’s Kate’s voice that does it. She comes in on top of piano notes and there’s this calmness to her delivery that just draws you in completely.

Ervin joins her on the chorus. Their voices come together with ease, no pressure, and the guitar underneath builds. It’s restrained in all the right places, which makes the moments when it does swell up feel earned.
